FY2026 CoC builds NOFO Announcement

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has published a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Continuum of Care Builds (CoC Builds) Competition. The CoC Builds program under this NOFO provides $100,000,000 for competitive grants for the new construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation (capital costs) of new permanent supportive housing (PSH) units. Through this NOFO, HUD encourages CoCs to leverage funds provided for capital costs of new PSH units with other funding sources to maximize the amount of housing that can be directed to meet the needs of homeless individuals and families. PSH is defined at 24 CFR 578.3 as permanent housing in which supportive services are provided to assist homeless persons with a disability to live independently. No more than 20 percent of each award may be used for other eligible CoC Program activities (Section IV.B.1.b) associated with the PSH project and no more than 10 percent of an award may be used for project administration.
