2024 Candidate Survey Responses

Understanding Candidates’ Positions on Homelessness and Housing in Kansas

The Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition (KSHC) and the Lived Experience Advisory Board recognized the need to gain a deeper understanding of candidates’ positions on homelessness and housing issues across Kansas. To achieve this, the Lived Experience Advisory Board worked diligently to create a comprehensive survey with questions that reflect the concerns and priorities of our communities throughout the state.

KSHC is pleased to present the results of this survey as a non-partisan resource. This initiative aims to provide voters with clear and detailed insights into each candidate’s stance on critical housing and homelessness policies. By offering this information, we hope to empower Kansas residents to make informed decisions at the polls and foster a more transparent dialogue on these pressing issues.

Below, you will find detailed responses from each candidate who responded to our survey. We encourage you to use this resource to better understand where candidates stand on homelessness and housing, and to engage in the ongoing efforts to address these challenges in our state.

Capitol Hill Day 2024

Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition hosted a Capitol Hill Day on February 13, 2024 with the support of United Community Services of Johnson County. A total of 33 organizations and 144 individuals came together from all across Kansas to advocate for solutions to end homelessness and housing instability! Through this event and advocacy collaboration, Kansas Housing Advocacy Network (KHAN) was formed. KHAN is a collaborative effort to bring important information to CoC’s across Kansas and provide consistent communication materials to help in your efforts to advocate for homeless rights and housing instability in Kansas.
