Who We Are

Get Started with KSHC

Founded in 2003, the Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition, Inc. (KSHC) is a not-for-profit organization based in Lawrence, KS. Our work is to coordinate with communities throughout the state to provide advocacy, education, and collaboration to end homelessness in Kansas. We also provide remote access to services for those experiencing homeless in areas with limited resources.

KHSC is the current Collaborative Applicant for the Kansas Balance of State Continuum of Care (CoC). The Collaborative Applicant is the eligible applicant designated by the CoC to collect and submit the CoC Registration, CoC Consolidated Application (which includes the CoC Application and CoC Priority Listing) and apply for CoC planning funds on behalf of the CoC during the CoC Program Competition. The Kansas Balance of State includes all counties in Kansas excluding Johnson, Sedgwick, Shawnee, and Wyandotte Counties, who operate as individual county CoCs.

Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition values diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of our work. We constantly promote and evaluate the equity of the programs that we are a part of, including access, policy, and procedures of the Kansas Balance of State Continuum of Care. We partner and collaborate with our member organizations, as well as individuals with lived experience, to learn from their experiences and barriers to create equitable change within the homelessness system in the state of Kansas. These values are essential to fulfill our mission of ensuring that housing is safe, appropriate, affordable, and accessible for all Kansans.
